Standout leader from the community featured each month
Born and raised in Western Illinois on a small family Farm, Gretchen found her way to Iowa by attending Iowa State University (Go Cyclones!). She studied Agronomy and actually worked in that industry fresh out of college. Gretchen found her way to insurance as she quickly realized she wanted to be a valuable resource for small business owners and families. In her previous work she was managing and onboarding subcontractors and was shocked at how many business owners didn’t know who their agent was. She now strives to ensure her clients they are properly covered and they have insurance as a tool – not a headache!
Gretchen stays heavily involved in the communities she works in – including sitting on the board of health in Warren County. During her free-time, she operates a fully functioning farm including raising cattle that she does direct locker beef sales with, beekeeping, and raising a large flock of chickens. When she is not working on the farm she enjoys canning, knitting, as well as freelance modeling!
Gretchen is a valued member of our West YP group. Her favorite part about West Des Moines are the down to earth people who live and work in the community. She shared that “It is so inspiring to have the opportunity to meet someone new at every West YP event I attend. I learn so much about different industries, as well as who to call if any of my clients need other great local professionals to work with!”
