Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration in West Des Moines
Join us for the West Des Moines Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration at the RecPlex. This year, our theme is Having the Courage to Care, inspired by Dr. King’s powerful reminder that “Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into a friend.”
Rush Hour: Aura Restaurant & Lounge
Rush Hour is one of the WDM Chamber’s signature monthly networking events, offering a relaxed space to enjoy a drink and connect with fellow professionals. It’s the perfect way to wrap up your workday while building meaningful relationships in West Des Moines.

She has held several positions working with under-represented populations and multi-cultural students within Iowa State University and other educational institutions. Ms. Kennis obtained her Graduate Certificate in Education for Social Justice, a Master?s Degree in Education and is currently working towards a second Master?s Degree in Community and Regional Planning. She began her employment with the City of West Des Moines in September of 2021.

Tuesday, 3/24, 2026Join the West Des Moines, Urbandale and Clive Chambers for the annual golf event on Thursday, August 24th at Beaver Creek Golf Course in Grimes. Golfers will have the option to pick between a morning and afternoon shotgun time during their registration. When registering, members of the Urbandale and Clive Chambers of Commerce will select the option under ''Not a Member'' to purchase tickets. Pricing does not change. We're so glad to provide this opportunity for the community to engage with each other while having fun and enjoying their time outdoors. Sponsoring businesses from all three Chambers provide lively interaction at each hole. Format: 4-person best ball We're ready to PAR TEE again this year! This year's theme is tailgating. Golfers are welcome to wear their favorite tailgate attire and rep their favorite teams!
