My colleagues and I are on a mission to help leaders people better. To be a great leader you need to lead processes, procedures, products, and people. If you don’t get the last one right, the rest will struggle. You can be productive as an organization but still destructive. We recognize that most managers are accidental managers. What I mean by that is they are promoted not because they studied management and human behavior, they are promoted often because of their technical skills. Then most don’t get the support and training they need to show up more effectively for their teams. And we are surprised when engagement is low, when bench strength is shallow, and there are challenges. Through coaching, workshops, keynotes, and research we work with people to help them become the leaders they want to be and quite frankly the ones we need them to be. While the company has my name, we have an incredible team of 10 who support our clients or support us in doing this work.Â
What I love about this area is that it is big enough you won’t know everyone, but small enough that you can make a real impact. Also, I love the ability to be close to my family when I am not traveling.Â
We are often the company that organizations come to when their training as failed. We are at our core a learning organization whose services are designed to inspire and support behavior change. There are a few key ways we support our clients – 1 on 1 leadership coaching, workshop facilitation (short term and long term), keynote presentations, thought partnership, and research/writing. We support clients globally both in person and virtually. Â
Things that are always true about us are that we are deeply curious, candid, and compassionate. We work to build immersive partnerships with our clients where we always work to bring our best thinking and strategies to their situation. We also believe theory is great, but tools are better and are always looking to bring micro tools that can create macro impact. Anytime we are working with a client we have a phrase that we coined called “follow the learning” meaning we will come prepared with a plan for the conversation or session and we will quickly leave that plan if what the group needs in that moment is different. My colleagues and I have had the privilege of working with over 500 organizations so we have a depth of insight into what works, what doesn’t, and what might. We don’t have off-the-shelf programs because companies don’t have off-the-shelf problems.Â
I love the accessibility to resources, having the opportunity to travel the world for work, I love coming home. Personally, I have some of the best neighbors who are supportive and have your back. I cherish being part of a community that watches out for each other.Â
