Community Housing Initiatives (CHI) was founded in 1994 to provide high-quality housing for low-income Iowans. Recognizing the need to take housing a step further, CHI included services to help residents retain housing and thrive as part of a larger community.
For the past 30 years, CHI has remained dedicated to the mission of expanding affordable housing options across Iowa. Today, CHI is the largest nonprofit organization in Iowa dedicated to offering affordable housing. With a portfolio of 1,600 units in thrifty counties statewide, CHI plays a crucial role in providing individuals and families with access to safe and affordable housing.
