Standout leader from the community featured each month
West YP is proud to have our member, Chenoa Springer, be selected for the West Des Moines Watch List standout leader. One of her favorite things about West Des Moines is the ample opportunities to get involved, whether that’s through something like young professionals, volunteering, or trying out new hobbies.
Chenoa is an Actuarial Analyst for EquiTrust Life Insurance Company. “There are a lot of things I enjoy about my job. I get to learn something new almost every day, and it stretches my
brain with lot of problem solving.” Springer said. “I am part of a great team, which I think is an important part of any job. I love working in the annuities sector, knowing I am helping people generate reliable sources of income in their retirement years, and I enjoy learning about the intricacies of different retirement policies.”
Chenoa grew up in a small town on the central coast of California. She went to the University of Sioux Falls and moved to West Des Moines late last year for work. Outside of work, Chenoa loves nature and being outdoors. “Sometimes that’s difficult to do during Midwest winters through,” Springer said. “One hobby I have picked up since moving to the Midwest is Aerial silks – a type of aerial acrobatics. I take classes at the studio in WDM and am part of the group’s “Street Team” where we do performances for local events during the summer.”
Her life motto is Seize the Day! “I try to make the most out of every day and put my best foot forward in any situation. This has always been a part of who I am.” Springer states.
