We challenge Iowans everywhere to be intentional with acts of kindness on February 28, 2025.Â
Pay it forward in your line for coffee, show appreciation for our frontline workers, shovel a neighbor’s driveway, or send a thoughtful text to someone who might need some positive words.
We also hold a Day of Kindness Drive collecting new pairs of socks. These are donated to WDM Human Services through WDMLA Alum Mick Grossman’s “Socks of Love” project. Learn more here.
This initiative was initially founded by Alumni of the WDM Leadership Academy in 2021, and it has since grown to a statewide celebration with Governor Kim Reynolds and West Des Moines Mayor Russ Trimble, past WDMLA graduate, signing annual proclamations.Â
Small acts of kindness can make the biggest difference in someone’s life. Big or small, monetary or action-oriented, anonymous or direct…let’s make a difference on February 28. Get ready for Day of Kindness, Iowans! #WDMkind #IowaKind
