I was drawn to this role, of course, by a love for coffee. But deeper than that, I love community and connection, something that we really value and exceed in here at Northern Vessel. We find ourselves in situations daily in which we can serve people better, and we strive to do just that. I worked at a coffee shop in college and loved it, but after moving to Des Moines, I worked elsewhere for a few years. After being a regular for 2 years here at Northern Vessel, I was so happy to be asked to join the team and get back to doing what I love most, serving others.
I love everything BUT if I had to pick one thing, I enjoy being able to provide grace and encouragement in a place where that isn’t expected. People come in for coffee, and (hopefully) leave with a bit of encouragement, grace, and joy.
I am really proud to be part of West YP and the connections I have gained through it. In the past 3 years of work, I have learned many new skills and gained certifications that I didn’t plan to in the beginning. It is amazing the ways that connections truly make all the difference.
A morning routine is so essential for my success. If I wake up and tackle the morning routine, I am setting myself up for success the rest of the day. In my current role, it is important to pour into myself in the morning so that I can intentionally pour into others for the day!
Take the step even when you are not ready. There have been many instances in which I didn’t feel ready to complete a task or take on a role, but with a good attitude and a great leader, you can learn anything and excel!
I enjoy running, spending time with my chocolate lab, and learning about the human body and health! I am always looking for ways to grow professionally, but that all starts personally in my mind. So I love to find new ways to care for and nurture my body!
I NEED to go skydiving… SOON.
I plan to continue providing excellent hospitality here at Northern Vessel and help us grow in consumers! Learning how to meet people where they are and provide excellent coffee experiences through unreasonable hospitality… that is my goal.
