Born and raised in Spirit Lake, IA, you can often find MacKenzie Veldman venturing back to her hometown to spend time on the lake. MacKenzie was raised in an entrepreneurial family where both of her parents owned their own businesses, which eventually led her to major in Financial Counseling and Planning at Iowa State University. Mackenzie chose this major because it allows her to have the best of both worlds between education and business. The ability to educate individuals and businesses about their financial decisions creates impact and value in their lives, which is something Mackenzie is very passionate about.
Shortly after college, MacKenzie landed in West Des Moines to begin making life-long connections in a city she hopes to call home for a very long time. “West Des Moines has everything a gal could ask for including happy hours at local restaurants like Anna Dolce, Firebirds, and Wine Styles. I frequent driving ranges at West Grand Golf, and Raccoon River Park is beautiful to walk around while enjoying the great outdoors.”
MacKenzie has quickly become involved in West Des Moines including being a part of the Explore WDM Committee. She is also a Big Sister with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Iowa where she will celebrate 2 years of being matched with her little this month! MacKenzie is also, of course, an active member in West YP where she has felt instant connections with other flourishing young professionals through various educational, networking, and fun social events.
Upon meeting MacKenzie for the first time, you will learn that she enjoys boating in the summer, golfing in the fair-weather months, and sprinkling in shopping trips whenever she can.
As a strong Enneagram 3, MacKenzie’s life motto is “You never get a second chance to make a first impression,” a quote from Andrew Grant. Lastly, Mackenzie loves to keep her home a vibrant space that makes her happy by decorating for the holidays and always having the latest and greatest home décor.
