At Iowa State, I majored in Event Management, and after graduation I was looking for a people-oriented role that still incorporated events! Merkle was the perfect fit for this, though we are a retirement planning company, we go above and beyond for clients to provide them the best experiences when working with us. Through my years at Merkle, I also found that I enjoyed training and development, which lead to my role as Team Lead!
My favorite part of my job is 100% the people. Whether that is our clients or my coworkers, I genuinely feel like the people I am surrounded by are like family!
One thing I am proud of is my recent promotion to Team Lead! I truly enjoy being a resource for my team members, and am excited to have a role that reflects that!
I always have a habit to keep my inbox at zero, though it seems unrealistic at times! It really helps me stay organized both at work and in my personal life!
One piece of advice is to say yes to more things! I think the things I said yes to, lead to opportunities that have expanded my knowledge and my career path more than ever! When I was in college, I would have never seen myself in the finance industry, but I have learned so much and it has lead me to great opportunities for growth!
I love taking fitness classes like yoga & barre! I am starting Barre teacher training this spring to become an instructor! Outside of working out, I love being outdoors, spending time with family and friends, and cooking!
I am a big traveler, so probably making it to every continent! I’d love to visit every country, but I think every continent is a little more realistic 🙂
In terms of my career, I have plans to continue expanding my knowledge through additional education and certifications, like my Life & Health, and (maybe) my MBA! I am excited to also expand my work to things beyond my career at Merkle, and become a fitness instructor at Power Life! Outside of work, I am also hoping for lots and lots of travel in my future!
You can find me around Des Moines trying out new restaurants, bars and coffee shops. Also at events like the farmers market downtown, or West YP Events, and taking classes at Power Life!
