Financial services had a strong presence in my family growing up, so I was always familiar with the industry. While I explored a few different career paths in college, an opportunity opened up to join the team where my uncle worked around the time I graduated. It felt like a natural fit, so I took the leap. What started as a good opportunity quickly turned into a career I genuinely enjoy. I’ve been fortunate to work alongside an incredible team, and helping clients better understand their finances and make confident decisions is what has kept me here ever since.

My favorite part of the job is helping people connect their money to what actually matters to them. It’s one thing to talk about investments, taxes, or account balances, but I enjoy helping clients understand how those things translate into their goals.

Passing the CFP® certification exam is probably the professional accomplishment I’m most proud of. It’s one of the most challenging milestones in our industry and required a significant investment of time and effort. More importantly, it allows me to help the individuals and families I work with on a much deeper level.

I’m a big believer in staying organized. Whether it’s sticky notes on my desk, a planner, or my task list, I like having a system that helps me keep track of commitments and make sure nothing falls through the cracks. I also enjoy using technology to stay on track, from my Apple Watch to monitor fitness goals to AI tools that help me organize information and simplify day-to-day life.

Put yourself out there. There are so many ways to get connected in the Des Moines community, but the most important thing is finding something that genuinely interests you and showing up consistently. Relationships aren’t built overnight. They come from being involved, getting to know people, and becoming a familiar face over time.

Outside of work, I enjoy training for half marathons, skiing, spending time with friends and family, playing board games, and being involved in the West Des Moines community. I also enjoy camping and traveling with my wife whenever we get the opportunity.

I would LOVE to go skiing down the Swiss Alps.

I’d love to become a partner in the firm and continue helping more people make confident decisions about their future. My wife and I would also love to someday move to an acreage outside of Des Moines and enjoy a little more space and time outdoors. More than anything, I hope to build a life surrounded by family, friends, and a community that means a lot to me.

You can usually find me out on a run, at a West YP or West Des Moines Chamber event, or participating in one of the various affinity groups. I enjoy staying involved in the community, so there’s a good chance you’ll also run into me at events like Oktoberfest, the Des Moines Arts Festival, or others.
