Meet Amos Hunter

Applications Engineer,

Ramco

Iowa State University

I’ve always been passionate about machinery, and this eventually led me to engineering. I worked for a few manufacturers after graduating, and that was how I got into industrial automation specifically.

I like the variety – I work with so many different customers and technologies. It keeps things fresh and interesting.

I’ve done multiple projects start to finish independently; I’m proud of having a high level of ownership in the projects I do.

I’m continually learning, I regularly read and watch engineering content.

Network and share what you do, it’s often overlooked but connecting with people and demonstrating your work is so important to personal and professional growth.

I love industrial history and nature, so visiting museums or taking walks outdoors are some of my favorite activities.

I would love to visit The Henry Ford museum someday.

I want to help Iowa businesses implement more automation, and make high technology more accessible locally.

I frequently go to parks and libraries with my wife and daughter. We also enjoy dining at local restaurants.
