Start your day at a local business who hosts breakfast while members network, connect with long-time clients and meet new prospects even before the beginning of their business day. Great food, fun prizes and incomparable conversation create an ideal setting for getting deals done!
Nearly 3,000 businesses call West Des Moines home and many of those small businesses have their own distinct set of challenges. The Chamber’s Business Roundtable brings subject matter expertise to the podium for an exchange of information that impacts business owners across all industries.
Both new and existing members have periodic opportunities to get an overview of their Chamber and how better to increase the value of their membership for them individually, and for others from their company or organization. The session includes hints on how better to get involved and ways for employers to engage their employees in the Chamber.
The West Des Moines Chamber and the city of West Des Moines annually recognize a West Des Moines resident or business professional for Citizen of the Year in addition to honoring an Emerging Citizen of the Year with an award.
“The Citizen of the Year was created to promote and recognize the people, businesses and civic organizations that make this a great community in which to live, work and raise a family,” said Carole Chambers, President/CEO of the West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce. “Celebrating the Citizen of the Year allows us to acknowledge and highlight the winners’ exemplary service to our city.”
Each month the Chamber invites a dynamic speaker to provide timely information, business news or insights, even inspirational stories which resonate with the audience.
Members and guests always have time to network with other members before the program begins and lunch is served.
You could meet your mentor at the Metro-Wide Mentoring for Women morning, offering attendees a chance to learn from mentors in three fast and fun 20-min coaching sessions. Connect with like-minded women and receive first-hand advice from respected business and civic leaders.
As businesses open, expand or relocate to allow for even greater expansion, the Chamber helps them benchmark their success with ribbon cuttings in their new facilities. Our Ambassadors, board members, city officials, community leaders and Chamber staff come together to celebrate these important moments in an organization’s development.
