West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce Privacy Policy

The West Des Moines Chamber is committed to protecting the privacy of our members’ personal information and maintaining the trust and confidence of our members and visitors to our web site and access to our membership directory.

Emails

Members and visitors have the option to opt-in to receive chamber communication via email. At any anytime individuals can choose to unsubscribe from Chamber newsletters by clicking the link at the bottom of these communications. If one chooses to unsubscribe, the email address will be removed from further member communication of all types. Individuals may also contact the Chamber office to request the email be removed from communications lists.

Website Analytics

The Chamber reviews the number of “hits,” “unique visitors,” “pageviews,” and “advertisement clicks” for its own statistical information purposes only. The Chamber makes no attempt to link hits with the individuals who browse the site. Advertisers who request the amount of clicks/hits or other website statistics will be given this information for them to evaluate their return on investment on website advertising. Personal information is not available regarding who has visited the site.

Database

The Chamber maintains an up-to-date membership database on a secure server provided by the Chamber’s database provider. The information collected in this database is for Chamber use only. Members can purchase mailing labels (not emails) from the Chamber staff at any given time to use for promotional purposes. Members may also purchase a sponsored email that a Chamber staff member sends out electronically on their behalf. Membership in the Chamber of Commerce is an implied effort by the member to be known within the membership and the community as a member in good standing who wishes to be contacted for services and/or products. Member listings are available on the website by accessing the Member Directory. This information is published as a member benefit and is provided by individual members. Member verifications are done periodically throughout the year to ensure the Chamber staff has the latest and most updated information. Email addresses are not listed. Members can choose to be contacted through the website by adding their web address.

Personal/Credit Card Information

If a person chooses to register for events or join/renew Chamber membership by using a credit card on the Chamber website or through emails, he/she will be required to give personal contact information as well as credit card information. If a person opts to have his/her credit card information stored, the credit card information is kept on a separate secure third-party server as provided by the database provider. The WDM Chamber does not store this information nor does the WDM Chamber’s database operator. In addition to providing the foregoing information, if one chooses to correspond further through email regarding registration or for payments of any kind, the Chamber staff may retain the content of the email messages and the email address as proof of registration.

Members that have Primary status in the Chamber’s database can update or modify their business listing at any time by entering their username and password on the Chamber’s website. Or changes to the memberships listing can be submitted to the Chamber staff at info@wdmchamber.org.

The Chamber’s site and products are changing frequently, and the Privacy, Terms & Conditions and Return/Refund policy will be updated periodically.
